There are many schools that have something to do with journalism; some might make writing assignments and some might include videos, podcasts, and websites. Some journalism work will be on paper, but the majority can be found online. There are many benefits that journalism has, like a better impact on students’ writing/expressing & research skills. It will also help increase your grade BUT only if you give in your best work, so if you join journalism you have to work hard to achieve higher grades. If you are in journalism you will learn a lot of stuff about photography, writing skills, and learn how to express yourself through writing, and it would help you communicate with others. You will also get to engage with other students and understand their opinions. You get many ideas and options on how to express yourself about something.

Recently, we took a trip to the Tweed Courthouse, where we had a fun time meeting other NYC middle school journalists at the Middle School Press Corps conference and met the Executive Director of Knowledge Management at the Chancellor’s Office of the NYC Department of Education. He said he would come visit the excitement of P.S 218.

There are a lot of different opinions about journalism amongst us. One of our journalists said, ”In journalism we do lots of things, We make articles about things that happen in our school community. I really like journalism since you’re able to express your feelings in the article you make.” Another journalist stated, “I like how I get to draw, and I like taking pictures.
